The introductory 9 seconds is quality! the bell and staccato saw/bass/thing have so much rhythm and personality! it's a shame when the drums kick in, the tune reduces to a kind of drone :\ still sounds good mind you! the drop is pretty sweet lots of nice weird bass noises and cool variations. careful of the space you give your bass in the mix though, there's some interference with the buzzy-chord-synth and some strange compression that's making the bass' volume duck every now and then for some reason. cool track keep it up :)

Kirbyfemur responds:

Unfortunately this mix got a bit weird and unfortunately there might not be that much to it without the vocals it seems :\

have more confidence when you sing it sounds pretty muffled (maybe sing an octave higher that might sound good because there's nothing much occupying the higher frequency end) :) it's been ages since i've heard a song on here with vocals so kudos for that. as it is the song is pretty drone-y you should work on making a melody that sticks out. you could make something really sweet if you develop this further :)

Any DJ would hate you for the slow down/speed up thing you did at 2:20 ;D
Really enjoyed the track, the drums and the "peow-peow" lead/bass thing sounded awesome. I'd stick a lead melody on top to make the track more unique.
Great work.

H2opoloseal responds:

As a DJ myself, it did make this track rather difficult to spin, but I've noticed that tempo is one thing a lot of artists don't play with very much... so I try to do little things ocasionally like that :p I'm glad you liked the track! Thank you.

This is cool! Quite a unique style lots of cool sounds to catch your ear. I think it needs a big old kick drum though to tie it together, that'll get the folks dancing :)

Huckton responds:

thanks man!

a beautiful start but it needs work. something else needs to happen after 42 seconds, the tune gets very repetitive. on the plus it has a strong overall atmosphere!

Sheodon responds:

Thank you for the comment. I agree with you, and if I will have an idea how can I improve it, believe me, I'll make an other version. My current idea is that I'll delete the main instrument in the middle of the song and I'll substitute it with the same flute I used in the beginning and the ending.

Got some cool ideas in here but the mix is pretty messy. If you're going for standard dubstep you need to make the bass and drums the main emphasis of the track, atm there are all sorts of other sounds fighting for space in the mix while the bass is panned somewhere off to the right. Bring the bass into the centre, turn it up and turn down the volume on some of the other sounds (or EQ them to free up some space for the bass). Also i think you should bring the kick out more to get the track really moving; distorting it a little, EQing it, and sidechain compressing the bass with it will give you what you need.
A good first step into dubstep but keep plugging away!

This was the kind of feedback I was looking for! i'll be sure to take on board your mixing advice should try to make something like this again! Thanks!

Totally caught me off guard at 0:31. Cool style has some weird synths in there i wouldn't usually associate with trance but it gels together quite well. The sound at times though is quite muddy though maybe you've got got too much delay on some of the synths. Keep it up!

StaticLF responds:

Yes I was expecting something like this, seeing as this is my first time using multi-band compressing.
Maybe I had the gain on some of my sounds a little to high. Thanks for your feed back my friend, glad you liked it.

Great job writing this very emotive piece of music; it feels lonely and contemplative. I think it would work really well as a soundtrack. To make it better perhaps give the piano a little more variation.
Nice one :)

Lone-X responds:

Thanks man! I appreciate the critique!

Soooothing

You really captured the dream-like quality in the music. Reminds me a bit of one of aphex twin's short pieces. nice one!

DJEPITOME responds:

Thanks A Lot
I Appreciate You Listening

Really nice

Lovely short piece, very emotional. Sounds like you've got a bit much reverb in there though turn it down i want to hear the guitar playing :D

kiiryu responds:

Haha, yeah. Reverb feels like a safety blanket when you've got clumsy hands like mine.
