hey, sounds great. has a bit of a simon postford vibe about it, which is a high compliment from me :) interesting rhythms and variations, and well produced also.
nice one, keep it up.

hey man! not a bad track - it's got rhythm and pace and it's got all the right noises.
first issue with the track is the kick rhythm - that's the sort of rhythm you'd expect in a breakdown section, rather than when it's meant to be kicking off. if you kept that rhythm in the breakdown but switched to your basic 4/4 for the chorus the track'll bang a lot harder.
secondly i think you need a tune you can hum, there are a few melodies hidden in there at the moment but with trance you need something epic that soars over the rest of your mix.
sorry for the essay - keep it up!

Ok thanks. I will have a look and see what I can do to make it sound better :-) Thanks for your review. I will change the beat to 4/4 and keep the existing beat for breaks.

Bravo sir! Excellent track. The sound is great - really punchy and the synths and drums all sound massive. The tune is great too. I think you could improve this track by adding some more variation into the rhythm (maybe some toms or extra snares etc). Also maybe changing the feel of the second drop a bit so that it's different to the first. But hey, well done. This is really great.

hello! this track is rather nice - the beats are crisp and the bass noises are nice. I wish it was all much more rhythmic though: the bass follows a kind of arrhythmic pattern and the beats don't have any variation. I think changing the rhythm after the breakdown at 2:00ish or maybe changing the relationship between the bass and the beats at this point would have been really effective. cool track though keep up the good work :)

Dang I really liked it until it dropped. There were a lot of interesting things happening with the synths that I wanted to hear develop, also the low-fi drums lend themselves well to a softer style of dubstep. The drop also doesn't work well for me I think because the rhythm of the bass sounds is too repetitive and the sounds themselves are a bit grating. The breakdown after the first drop is very nice. Anyway overall it's a pretty good track, nice one!

Hello! This piece is very ambitious with the length and has some cool elements. The drums really remind me of something from aphex twin's selected ambient works, which i love. The synths could do with more variations in the sound though, and the tune needs more depth. Also for a piece of this length there needs to be more of a harmonic progression i think. Anyway all these things can be solved I think you just need to work into it some more :) it's a great start for a track, it feels very emotive and has potential.

Thank you very much for your helpful review, dude! =D

Cool sounds and interesting rhythm but there are too many elements fighting for space in the mix, which makes it a bit unpleasant at parts. I'd like to see this developed into a full on dance track as it has an interesting character to it.

I really enjoyed this track. So much energy, clear production and excellent sounds being used. If I was to make a suggestion I'd turn down the pan on the percussion; there're some hats panned far right that feel a bit out of place.Perhaps a bit more subtle variations in the instruments would have been nice also. Anyway these are small issues nice work!

SierraMadreNightmare responds:

Thanks for listening and reviewing. I have a pair of Razer Tiamats that I use for all PC purposes, so I did not hear the, "panned hi-hat" until I plugged in some speakers, and they do sound to the right more prominently, which I will look into fixing. I am actually terrible with mastering, but am trying to learn better techniques to bring everything together without sounding like a hodgepodge of sounds. Thanks again!

Hello! This isn't really techno as techno tends to be much more focussed on pacing and rhythm and sound design and this piece is very melody based. So I think this would lend itself much better to progressive house or trance or maybe dutch house. What you're looking to do next is take this track somewhere, use the tune and sounds you have here as the thematic basis for a completely new section of the track - usually a drop where you cut the melodic elements and focus on drums and bass, or maybe you could change the chord progression and add a different melody. What you have here is a good build up but now you need to take it somewhere :)

invosodude responds:

Thank you, and I am going to make changes soon.

very pretty until like 0:45, that bit at the end feels totally random (although it's pretty sweet) :\
